If I had a person come in and tell me that they wanted to learn every aspect of bookselling, and even cleaning the bookstore bathroom would be better than working anywhere else, that resume would go to the top of the pile.

That sums up exactly how I feel. I may borrow that and make it sound a bit more formal on my cover-letter if you don't mind. And if it wasn't for the fact that I have enormous bills to pay, I'd be thrilled even to just volunteer.

I have a pretty wide=spread knowledge of all the genres. My weakness is sci-fi, but Terry Pratchett is my go-to guy, and I'll do some more research before going in.I've also worked at our local library as a children's page, so I got to recommend lots of books that way.

Luckily, I am obsessive-compulsive about order and alphabetizing. I bought readerware for my own book oollection, and spent a bunch of time inputting copyright dates, organizing by author, character. I think I might put that in the cover letter as well.

You both were so helpful. I wanted my resume to stand out and I think these ideas will help me do it. Once I send it off, I'll update you on how it goes. Thanks again!
